Privacy Policy

Watch Me Run ("we", "our", "the app") is an iOS app that lets runners share their race schedule with friends, family, and fans. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information

• Apple ID identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address through Sign in with Apple. Apple may give us a relay email address instead of your real one.
• A unique user ID generated by Firebase Authentication.

Profile information you provide

• Display name, location, team name, profile color.
• A profile photo if you upload one.
• Profile visibility setting (public or private).

Race and meet content

• Race entries you add to your schedule (meet name, event name, distance, start time, links, notes).
• Meets and meet logos you create or submit for review.
• Athletes you follow and meets or events you choose to watch.
• Flags and feedback you submit from within the app.

Device information (for notifications)

• Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token and related notification metadata, so we can deliver race reminders you ask for through Apple's push notification service.
• Device reminder preferences (enabled/disabled, how far in advance, time zone, app version, OS version).

Automatic technical data

• Basic diagnostic data from Firebase services (request timestamps, anonymous error logs) used only to operate and debug the app.

We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs. We do not sell your data.

How we use your information

• To create and maintain your Watch Me Run account.
• To show your race schedule to people you choose to share it with.
• To send you push notifications about your own races and races you are watching, when you have enabled them.
• To moderate public meets and user-submitted content.
• To keep the app reliable and secure.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored in Google Cloud's Firebase services (Firestore, Cloud Storage for Firebase, Firebase Authentication, Cloud Functions) in the United States. Apple delivers push notifications on our behalf. We do not use any other third-party data processors.

Public profile sharing

Your profile name, location, team name, profile color, and profile photo can be visible on the Watch Me Run web share page at watchmerunapp.com/user/<your-id> and can be discovered by people signed in to the app. If you set your profile to public, your race schedule is also visible. If your profile is private, only approved followers can see your race schedule.

Your choices

• Visibility: Toggle your profile between public and private at any time in the app.
• Notifications: Turn push notifications on or off from Settings.
• Access & correction: You can view and edit your profile, entries, follows, and watched meets at any time in the app.
• Deletion: Open Settings → Account & Privacy → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, race schedule, follows, watched meets, uploaded photos, meet logos, push registration, pending reminders, and your Watch Me Run sign-in record. Deletion cannot be undone.

If you signed up with Sign in with Apple, you can also revoke Watch Me Run's access to your Apple ID under Settings → Your Name → Sign in with Apple on your Apple device.

Children

Watch Me Run is intended for a general audience interested in track and field. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use Firebase's built-in encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, and Firestore security rules that restrict reads and writes to the appropriate user or meet owner. No system is perfectly secure — please notify us if you discover a vulnerability.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when we do. Material changes will be announced in the app or on the Watch Me Run website.
